Mypinpad Simplifies the Path to Compliant Mobile Payments with Upgraded PCI MPoC v1.1 Certification

Mypinpad has upgraded its PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) Mobile Payments on COTS (MPoC) certification from v1.0 to v1.1. This advancement enables Mypinpad to conduct MPoC app integration reviews for customers building on its isolated SDK, eliminating the need for separate PCI engagement.

Previously, customers managed compliance through a distinct engagement with PCI alongside their integration work. The v1.1 upgrade streamlines this process — the review now occurs directly through Mypinpad, reducing complexity, shortening timelines, and maintaining continuity within an established relationship.

Independence remains fundamental to Mypinpad's philosophy: operating as a single end-to-end provider, maintaining compatibility across Android, iOS and PCI-PTS devices, and enabling rather than competing with customers. The MPoC v1.1 certification extends this principle into compliance processes.

Barry Levett, CEO of Mypinpad, commented: "The payments industry has spent years building security frameworks that are robust but often inaccessible to smaller players." He noted that as a PCI SSC Board of Advisors member, Mypinpad has witnessed how MPoC was designed to democratise compliance, with v1.1 advancing this further.

MPoC is the PCI standard facilitating PIN entry and card acceptance on commercial devices including smartphones and tablets, underpinning the transition towards software-based payment terminals and away from dedicated hardware. For integrating businesses, this certification provides a simpler, faster deployment route with fewer stakeholders and handoffs.
