THE ROLE

The primary purpose and scope of the IT Support Engineer is to ensure the group IT Network function is working effectively to maximise system availability, whilst consistently adhering to group IT processes and standards developed by the management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Providing both 1st and 2nd line IT support
  • Responding to support calls within the terms of SLA’s and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Operation of the support desk ticketing system, ensuring all tickets are handled correctly
  • Assisting with completing projects to deadlines, including researching and testing newproducts and technologies
  • Escalating IT Issues to the IT Support Team Leader where necessary
  • Procurement, preparation and building of IT equipment as required
  • Managing user accounts for all new starters and leavers
  • Ensuring the smooth day to day running and maintenance of infrastructure and businesssystems
  • Ensure escalated problems are managed and technical diagnosis and root cause investigationsare carried out
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Occasional out of hours support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • In-depth knowledge of products and services, combined with technical experience
  • Experience in a busy IT Department
  • Good understanding of Remote Monitoring
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 administration and Cloud Platform
  • Experience with Windows and Mac environments
  • Good and demonstrable understanding of Office 365 and Azure AD environments
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
  • Experience with monitoring and deployment tools (Desirable)
  • Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Excellent and demonstrable organisational and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism
  • Able to multitask and manage changing priorities
  • Able to problem solve and come up with creative solutions
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
