Barry is a finance professional with over 25 years’ experience in venture capital, investment banking and corporate M&A. In 2014, he founded SmartPesa, a payments and agency banking fintech, and expanded its footprint to 11 countries globally. He became CEO of MYPINPAD when SmartPesa merged with MYPINPAD in 2022. Barry has also held leadership positions in blue chip companies including Merrill Lynch, Shell and BHP Billiton in the UK and in Singapore; as well as venture-capital-backed startups.
Over 30 years’ experience with the Investec Group serving at director level in SA, UK and HK. In this time Richard led and developed numerous global new business units spanning specialised finance, treasury, trading and private equity investment. As a proven leader in building new enterprises, he now brings that experience to delivering MYPINPAD’s vision and scaling the business globally.
An executive with over 30 years’ experience at the forefront of new technology and payment processes in the UK and USA. Prior to joining MYPINPAD in 2013, David was Managing Director at mPOS technology company, Miura, Vice President EMEA at Verifone Inc and President & GM at Infor POS.
Former Accenture consultant and Investec banking executive with over 30 years of knowledge in SA and UK Private Banking markets. Wayne has led large-scale technology operations for Investec and established their card payments and banking business in South Africa and the UK. A proven leader with core skills in retail banking, product innovation, operations, marketing and technology platforms, he has also held many executive roles and was on the board of Visa South Africa.
A technologist, product architect and strategist with more than 20 years’ experience in the payments industry. Jon combines trend insight, deep technical know-how and UX design and articulates this into products and actionable strategies. Jon is active across the payments industry globally with networks into banks, financial service providers and start-ups.
An FCCA Qualified Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in Finance across a variety of sectors including financial services, professional services and manufacturing. David has a track record of developing established and start-up businesses through periods of acquisition and high growth. David joined the Licentia Group in 2019 and now leads the finance function.
Sally has over 25 years’ experience of working in HR across multiple sectors including Telecoms and Finance. As a graduate in Psychology and an Executive Coach, Sally has worked with SMEs and multinational corporations. She brings a wealth of experience in partnering senior leaders and in managing projects across all organisational requirements.
A lawyer with over 20 years’ professional legal experience, including 15 years of in-house counsel leadership positions within the financial services sector, Kathryn holds responsibility for all legal matters pertaining to each of the Licentia Group entities. Kathryn qualified as a solicitor and barrister in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland and a post graduate diploma from the College of Law, Sydney.
With over 20 years in IT security and compliance, Neal joined MYPINPAD in 2018 to manage the security and compliance functions. Prior to joining MYPINPAD, Neal was managing FortConsult’s (part of NCC Group) business in Sweden and Norway. Neal has a long history of working as a consultant for companies such as Trustwave and Verizon Business, where he had a particular focus on the finance sector.
Currently CEO of Nok Nok Labs a leading digital security and authentication company and founding member of the FIDO alliance. Phil was co-founder and CEO of PGP Corporation until it was acquired by Symantec in 2010. He has significant experience in SaaS infrastructure and enterprise software having served in senior positions at Doll Capital Management, Embark, Vantive, Apple and Xerox.
Ashley offers a wealth of corporate banking and entrepreneurial experience. His corporate banking positions have included Senior Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank, Senior Vice President at Mastercard International, and responsibility for operations and systems at The National Commercial Bank, Saudi Arabia. Since 2000, Ashley built and sold a number of companies including: NETGIRO, UCash, Virtual Fusion and Datacash.
